Winter 2022 Highlights

Winter Highlights

July was full of Food Truck Events - just the way it should be. After countless lockdowns affecting our events season, we are delighted that everything is finally feeling getting back to normal!

European Food Festival

At the start of the month, we kicked off things with a European Street Food Festival in Kumeu. Even though the rain crashed the party a little on Friday, there was no way to dampen our spirits and the event was a hit with the locals! Mulled wine went down as a treat and everyone loved a taste of Europe after not being able to travel there for so long!

WinterFest

The following couple of weekends, we proudly partnered with Elemental AKL and made our way across Auckland with eats, beats and good times!

First stop was Auckland Botanic Gardens with our new WinterFest event. It was an awesome vibe and the turn out was amazing! We had a range of food trucks to cater to all tastebuds along with our fully stocked container bar. The iconic gardens were lit up with an enchanted garden of 700 fluorescent flowers all made from recycled plastic by Comet Project Space. Lee Gray Music set the whole vibe by playing his best tunes and providing a space where people could have a little boogie between meals.

We took on Te Atatū next for our second weekend of Winterfest at the Te Atatū Peninsula Community Centre, where yet again, we had an awesome range of food trucks - perfect excuse to take the night off from cooking! Entertainment was next level over the two nights, Samoan fire dancers putting on a show, interactive light up drums, re-create workshops, live music from Lee Gray Music, a silent disco in the library and uv face paint to go along with it.

A massive thank you to everyone one who supported our events and we hope you had as much fun as we did. It was in awesome experience and we can't wait to do it all over again next year! 🤩❤️

Auckland Fried Chicken Festival

Our last event for July was the biggest of them all! Rounding up Fried Chicken Lovers from all over NZ for the highly anticipated Auckland Fried Chicken Festival. After having to postpone the festival multiple times due to lockdowns, saying excitement levels were high is an understatement.

We had a blast over the day with live performances from MisChief band and Lee Gray Music, alongside lots of other entertainment to keep foodies entertained in-between meals.

The day ended with lots of food comas and great memories! Big thanks to our event partners Behemoth Brewing Company, The Hunting Lodge, Red Bull NZ, Karma Drinks, Pals and Culley's for supporting our festival!

WinterFest and Auckland Fried Chicken Festival was proudly supported by Elemental AKL Festival, by Tataki Auckland Unlimited.

Make sure you are following us on Facebook & Instagram as we will shortly be announcing the dates for our next Summer Street Food Series! 🙌
