Meet the Vendor - Local Legend Eats

Meet one of our newest members Racine from Local Legend Eats! 🙌

At Local Legend Eats we make legendary street foods from around the world, using locally sourced ingredients. From our american barbecued meat burgers to super cheesy “deliciozi” arancini balls, “picante” jalapeno poppers and the good ol’ fries, we try to create an emotional connection and bring the communities together through our food.

⭐️ Why did you start a food truck?
I grew up in the kitchen helping my mum cooking and eventually cooking meals for the family and friends. I always dreamed of having a food truck one day. I used to run a small business recruiting international students to New Zealand. When Covid arrived, the business became unsustainable and I saw an opportunity to finally act on my dream to own a food truck.

⭐️ What was your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge was rebuilding the food truck by myself in between lockdowns with a very low budget. I had no experience in that type of project and every single step of the rebuild included a very steep learning curve. I relied heavily on YouTube to learn about all aspects of the project and it took me a whole year to finish the trailer. I wouldn’t do anything differently though. I can say that I made my own food truck! 😊

⭐️ What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t wait till your 40’s to start a food truck! 😊 I’m still young at heart though

⭐️ What are your plans for the future?
I intend to get Local Legend Eats to as many customers as possible and also engage into some sort of social activity where I can use the trailer and the reach I’ll gain from the business to give back to the community.
